	Animal Match Children’s Card Game
The “Animal Match” Game was a project for my Children’s Illustration course.
 “Animal Match” is a simple card matching game for ages 2+ to learn animals.
Children can use both colors, animals and patterns as memorization techniques in this game. 
I had alot of fun creating the illustrations on the card and deciding which patterns and color combinations were easiest for children to recognize.&#38;nbsp;

Teeny &#38;amp; Tom’s Action Alphabet&#38;nbsp;
“Teeny and Tom’s Action Alphabet” is an educational poster to be hung in a bedroom or classroom to help young children learn not only the alphabet, but also some verbs.I wanted to create visual flow with a gradient of colors from A-Z and continuous storyline from box to box.
 Research on Children’s development shows that children are suprisingly observant to small changes from panel to panel or page to page in children’s books.&#38;nbsp;Teeny and Tom were materialized for this project as I wanted a character that was simple and easy to identically reproduce.&#38;nbsp;
I made Tom (the tall cat) first and then made Teeny as a smaller version of Tom to create a slightly different but similar character.

	SHEIN X DESIGNER collab“Shein x Designers” is a project hosted by Shein where designers and artists can submit work to be printed and sold on merchandise.&#38;nbsp;

 These two illustrations were chosen for their children’s line. I wanted to have the theme of my designs be friendship and togetherness.
 It was a very rewarding experience to create surface designs because I could apply my work to a tangible item and parents really bought them for their children to enjoy.

	Hip- Hop Trading Cards
 “Hip-Hop Trading Cards” started as a class assignment that quickly turned into a personal project. As a big fan of history, pop culture, and hip-hop, I was really interested in diving into the roots of the genre.&#38;nbsp;
Similiarly to retro baseball trading card collections, “Hip-Hop Trading Cards” can be consumed by the old school fans and new school alike. The concept is to create a playing card collection showcasing the legends of hip-hop’s beginnings. Each card has stats, facts, and discographies of each artist and what they contributed to hip-hop’s roots.
I wanted to keep the feel of vintage baseball cards while modifying it to fit the style of old school hip-hop.&#38;nbsp;

	Emergency Intercom Podcast Cover Design
 Emergency Intercom is a comedic podcast by social media influencers Enya and Drew where they discuss current trends on social media, conspiracy theories, their daily lives and pretty much anything on their minds. &#38;nbsp;
I wanted to encapsulate the host’s overall vibes so I scanned their various social media platforms and watched their podcast on youtube to see their personal styles.&#38;nbsp;While the podcast is comedic in nature, their fan base is somewhat niche, artistic and alternative. This is most likely due to the music they publicly promote, their interests in movies, as well as having somewhat vintage styles in clothing.&#38;nbsp;I decided to draw the hosts in a demi- vintage cartoon style reminiscent of betty boop especially in Enya’s look. I then took inspiration from looks they’ve done many times for their styling and just played around with type face and color.&#38;nbsp;
When it came to layout and design aspects, I looked towards vintage Japanese posters and styles as the podcast hosts find inspiration in this style for clothing frequently. I then added a paper layover to create an even more vintage look. 
While I did this project as a portfolio piece and not for the podcast officially, I really enjoyed doing the background research and creating something that could really be used and hopefully enjoyed by the podcast and their fans.&#38;nbsp;

	Connectic*nt Magazine Februrary&#38;nbsp; Edition 2022Published Illustrations in Connecticut Magazine “Connectic*nt Mag” Februrary Edition 2022.&#38;nbsp; The prompt was Valentine’s Day so for these pieces, I tried to think of different takes on Valentine’s Day due to the magazine publication being rather alternative. I focused on the trope of lonliness of Valentine’s Day. Each one embodies lonliness in a different way. 
The only one that is not within this theme is the Valentines with the saying of “Boys will be Boys” and “Girls just want to have fun.” For this piece I just wanted to make an alternative meaning to the classic sayings and relate them to Valentine’s Day and romance.&#38;nbsp;

	“Immunization Situation” Mini Book&#38;nbsp;&#38;nbsp;This mini book was created in my “Art for Children” course in school where the focus was on children as an audience. 
My goal was to educate young children on how vaccines work as we navigate the misinformation that comes with Covid 19. 
I enjoyed doing the research and creating characters that were based in science. It was really fun imagining a metaphor for each part of the process and how I could charactierize each aspect. 
I also tried to incorporate a more abstract style to this piece than is common in alot of children’s books, with flat abstract shapes resembling blood cells in the background. I drew alot of inspiration from one of my favorite children’s books illustrators, Lane Smith.

 RAINN stands for&#38;nbsp; Rape Abuse and Incest National Network and it is the largest non profit anti-sexual assault organization in the United States. It aims to spread awareness, help survivors and prevent sexual assaults from occuring.
