Teeny & Tom’s Action Alphabet
“Teeny and Tom’s Action Alphabet” is an educational poster to be hung in a bedroom or classroom to help young children learn not only the alphabet, but also some verbs.
I wanted to create visual flow with a gradient of colors from A-Z and continuous storyline from box to box.
Research on Children’s development shows that children are suprisingly observant to small changes from panel to panel or page to page in children’s books. Teeny and Tom were materialized for this project as I wanted a character that was simple and easy to identically reproduce.
I made Tom (the tall cat) first and then made Teeny as a smaller version of Tom to create a slightly different but similar character.
