Children’s Rights Illustration
This illustration was made as part of a book for a class in college. The assignment was to illustrate a right from the list of children’s rights on The Convention on the Rights of the Child as declared by the United Nations. I chose “The right to live with your parent unless it is bad for you,” because I think many children would not realize that they are not bound to the family they’ve always known simply because they were born into it. I illustrated it with fantastical characters so as to lessen the heavy tone of the subject matter, also very obviously illustrating that the child is with a “chosen family” rather than a biological one.
